Getting Your Eligibility Certificate

Updated

Only someone who holds a valid eligibility certificate on registration day can enter any Dira BaHanacha (Mehir LaMishtaken) lottery. This is where the process begins — and you can apply even before any lotteries are open, so you're ready when they are.

Who Is Eligible?

  • Married couples — shared household
  • Couples planning to marry — within 3 months of submitting the application
  • Parents with at least one child under age 21
  • Singles aged 35 and above
  • Singles aged 21 and above with a recognized disability (75%+)
Tip

Married couples: your marital status must be registered and confirmed before you request an eligibility certificate — not after. Not registered through the Rabanut? You must register your marriage with the Ministry of Interior first. Not yet married but planning to? You can still apply if the wedding is within 3 months of submitting — but you must be registered with the Rabanut as an upcoming couple. A wedding invitation alone is not enough. What If We Don't Want to Marry Through the Rabanut?

How Do You Get One?

Register through one of the three registration companies: Alonim (*2850), Milgam (*6078), Maof (*9344). Available online or at a branch. The fee is ILS 200 and processing takes up to 10 business days. If approved, the certificate arrives by email.

Tip

The Ministry reserves the right to conduct repeat checks. Make sure all your declarations are accurate.
